With custom software projects that is the normal case. Where requirements, existing systems or technical feasibility are unresolved, a structured assessment is a better entry point than a general contact enquiry.
It examines the goal, the processes, the system landscape, the technical options and the risks. The result is a dependable basis for deciding on the development that follows.

For a general enquiry a few sentences are enough. For a concrete software project, the goal, the existing systems and the preferred timeframe are helpful — each at a high level. A complete specification is not required.
Please do not. Architecture diagrams, credentials, customer data and confidential documents do not belong in a first contact form. A high-level description is entirely sufficient for the initial assessment; anything further can be handled through an appropriate channel.
No. The first technical assessment is a paid service — the Technical Fit Check for €295 net, credited if a Discovery is commissioned within 14 days. The written review of whether a Fit Check makes sense for your project at all is free.
No. Clarification is most useful precisely when architecture or technology are still open. What is not useful is the opposite: a fully specified project where only implementation is wanted.
The budget field in the form is optional. A rough order of magnitude helps, because it determines whether a custom solution is the commercially sensible route at all.
The focus is on German-speaking Europe, in German or English. Projects elsewhere are possible where time zones and coordination stay practical.
